Solar Energy

Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity using photovoltaics.  Photovoltaic cells convert light into an electric current using the photovoltaic effect.  Solar PV has become an inexpensive, low-carbon technology to harness renewable energy from the Sun.  Solar electric is competitive with retail electricity in an increasing number of markets due to declining solar panel costs as well as improving financing options.

Renewable energy in the United States currently accounts for 13% of domestically produced electricity.  The growth of our domestic renewables market is set to explode, due to declining costs and improving financing options.  Clean energy investment broke new records in 2015 and is now seeing twice as much global funding as fossil fuels.  Recently, solar has become a cheaper power generation source than coal, which is why the majority of new power generation capacity is renewable. Join the New American Energy Revolution and finally end our dependence on hostile foreign oil producers.  If the private and public sectors collectively embrace solar energy, the United States can achieve full energy independence relatively quickly and win the fight against climate change.
